RANDOLPH COUNTY VIRTUAL SCHOOL
The mission of the Randolph County Board of Education and West Virginia Virtual School (WVVS) is to assure consistent, high quality education for the students of Randolph County through courses delivered via technology, promote efficacy and equity in course offerings, and provide options for implementation across the public school system. The Virtual School initiative helps bridge the barriers of time, distance, and inequities for all West Virginia students by providing access to resources.
The West Virginia Virtual School offers students numerous benefits in terms of time flexibility and program customization. Along with these advantages, students also assume increased responsibility in time management, organization, self-direction, and self-regulation. The Randolph County West Virginia Virtual School offers a full online learning option for students in grades K-12 and will eventually add elementary school curriculums. Courses added to the catalog will be reviewed by a team to ensure standards are met. In accordance with the statute Senate Bill 630, school districts can develop local policies to regulate and guide the county online program. The West Virginia Virtual School offers rigorous online courses aligned to state standards. These courses are typically taught by certified West Virginia licensed teachers who have often developed the course. The West Virginia Virtual School partners with county schools to provide a free individualized online learning solution for students on the path to high school graduation.

Interact Children's Museum Design Contest
The file below is a contest flier for the Interact Children’s Museum. The organization is currently a mobile museum, but plans to establish a permanent children’s museum in Elkins. More information and details will be forthcoming but for now, you can learn more at the website https://www.interactchildrensmuseum.org.
The board of directors is launching a contest for the public to submit a design idea for a new exhibit. They are asking for a $5 donation to accompany each submission, but it is important to know that ALL entries will be accepted regardless of donation.
This project is a way to stir up community interest while social distancing since all of the scheduled public events have been canceled.
We have an amazingly talented group of Wildcat student design artists here at Beverly Elementary School. It is always a highlight of my day when the children share their work with me. I encourage every Beverly Elementary Wildcat to get those creative juices flowing and submit a design.

Many of you have been asking how you can help with providing school supplies and/or what types of school supplies children will need for the upcoming school year. Each grade level has created a list of items that children will be using throughout the year at that particular grade level. These lists are the same ones that were sent with the students' final report card at the close of school last year.
Please understand that the school will supply items to provide for your children. However, if you would like to purchase items for your child, it will be greatly appreciated. I have listed the items by grade level below.
Thank you!
